BrightFunded Challenge EA That Holds Trades Across Candles

The BrightFunded Challenge EA is an MT5 Expert Advisor that reads ICT structure and turns each confirmed signal into a full trade on your BrightFunded account. It maps order blocks, fair value gaps and liquidity sweeps, then places the entry with a structure-based stop and three take-profit levels already drawn on the chart. An ICT read works top-down, from the higher-timeframe bias to a pullback into structure to the entry candle, so these trades are held naturally over multiple candles rather than flipped in seconds. Before any order is sent, its size is set against BrightFunded's 5% daily and 10% overall limits, and you keep control of the risk per trade.

BrightFunded EA Rules: 60-Second Hold, No Grid or Latency Arbitrage

BrightFunded's EA rules come down to three conditions. Expert Advisors are fully permitted on MetaTrader 5, but every EA trade must stay open for a minimum hold time of 60 seconds, and both latency arbitrage and unsupported grid trading are banned. That shuts out scalping robots that open and close within seconds and bots that lay orders at fixed intervals in a grid. The ICT engine works the other way: it waits for structure, opens one sized position with its stop already set and lets the trade develop, so it sits inside those rules by design. Read the terms on BrightFunded before you enable AutoTrading.

Fixed drawdown

BrightFunded Fixed 5% Daily and 10% Overall Drawdown Explained

BrightFunded uses fixed drawdown, not trailing drawdown, and measures both lines from your starting balance. The max daily loss is 5% and the max overall loss is 10%, and neither floor is dragged upward when your equity reaches a new peak. That makes the distance to each line a simple calculation, and the EA runs it on every tick: it reads live equity, works out the room left before the daily and overall lines, and cuts position size well before either one is at risk. You still set the risk per trade yourself, and trading carries risk of loss, so treat that figure as a ceiling rather than a target.

Two BrightFunded policies shape how an automated account should trade. Trade2Earn pays you for volume traded, even before your first payout, and the profit split scales through tiers from 80% up to 100%. There is also no consistency rule: BrightFunded does not cap how much of your profit target you can hit in a single day, so the EA can size into a clean ICT setup on a killzone sweep without a payout-blocking check later. Neither reward counts if the account breaches a drawdown line, which is why each entry is still sized inside the 5% daily limit. These are the firm's policies, not a promise, and trading carries risk of loss.

BrightFunded's own rules

BrightFunded is a proprietary-trading challenge provider, not a licensed broker. Its own terms set what automated strategies are allowed on a funded account and what counts as a violation.

  • BrightFunded is operated by Bright Global FZCO (Dubai) and is not a regulated broker or investment firm. All trading, including any funded-account payout, happens on demo accounts in a simulated environment with no real capital at risk.
  • Its terms permit Expert Advisors and automated trading generally, but explicitly ban High-Frequency Trading, tick scalping, arbitrage, grid trading without supporting technical analysis, and any software or AI use aimed at manipulating or abusing the platform.
  • Gap trading around major scheduled news/macro events is also restricted, and exploiting price-feed delays or system errors is treated as a rules violation that can void an account.
  • Because payouts depend on staying inside these rules on a simulated account, run any EA cautiously and confirm current parameters in BrightFunded's own terms before connecting it.

What to weigh before you run any EA on a funded-challenge account.

  • Challenge providers are largely unregulated: they are not licensed brokers, don't register with the CFTC or NFA, and you trade simulated capital under a fee-for-service contract, not a protected brokerage account.
  • Because they aren't brokers, funds aren't segregated client money and there is no FSCS / SIPC-style deposit protection if a firm delays payouts or ceases operating.
  • The CFTC's 2023 case against “My Forex Funds” (later dismissed on procedural grounds in 2025) alleged the firm secretly traded against its own funded clients, an illustration of the counterparty conflict built into the challenge-fee model.
  • Platform access is a live risk: from February 2024 MetaQuotes revoked MT4 / MT5 licences from brokers grey-labelling to prop firms over US-regulatory exposure, stranding some firms' accounts through no fault of the trader.

  • Under the EU's MiFID II, firms running algorithmic strategies must keep pre-trade risk controls, governance and testing in place. ESMA extended that scrutiny to AI-driven trading systems in 2026.
  • The FCA (UK) and ASIC (Australia) cap retail CFD leverage from 30:1 down to 2:1 and require negative-balance protection: a hard limit on the exposure any EA can take on a retail account.
  • Regulators consistently report that most retail CFD accounts lose money; automating the entries does not change that base rate.
  • CySEC, the FCA, ASIC and the CFTC all warn that an 'AI trading bot' promising guaranteed or risk-free returns is itself a fraud red flag: legitimate automation never guarantees a result.

United States

US persons face a distinct set of rules for automated forex, futures and securities trading, and a specific regulator advisory aimed at trading bots.

  • The CFTC's advisory “AI Won't Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines” names automated-bot and AI-signal scams directly: one fake-AI forex-bot case ended in a $3.4 billion judgment.
  • Retail off-exchange forex dealers must register with the CFTC and be NFA Forex Dealer Members; soliciting retail forex orders, including for an automated system, requires NFA registration.
  • The SEC, NASAA and FINRA jointly warn that a phrase like “our proprietary AI system can't lose” signals an unregistered scheme, not legitimate automation.
  • FINRA Rule 3110 makes member firms supervise, test and register the people behind an algorithmic strategy: the institutional bar for 'supervised' automated trading.
