What API key permissions do I need?

Trading enabled, withdrawals disabled. The EA never needs, and should never be given, the ability to move funds off BingX.

Do I need to complete KYC on BingX?

For full trading access across pairs, yes. BingX exempts a few major pairs from KYC, but verifying first avoids any restriction mid-trade.

Which markets does the EA trade on BingX?

BingX: licences & API/bot policy

BingX is a crypto exchange, not a broker. It holds only regional registrations rather than one top-tier licence, and it treats bot trading as a normal, supported use of its API. Check its own agreements and registration status before connecting any EA or bot.

  • BingX is not a single top-tier-licensed exchange: its entities hold market-by-market registrations, e.g. BingX Global Pty Ltd as an AUSTRAC-registered digital currency exchange provider in Australia and BingX EU UAB as a registered virtual-asset service provider in Lithuania, and it has pursued US/Canada MSB registration; it is not authorized under the EU's MiCA framework and blocks users in the US, UK, Canada and several other jurisdictions from its main platform.
  • API and bot trading is officially supported: BingX's own accounts/API page and help center document creating API keys with separate, opt-in permissions (read, spot/futures trade, transfer, withdrawal) so a bot can be limited to trade-only access; BingX recommends IP-whitelisting keys and leaving withdrawal permission off, and non-IP-bound trading keys with broad permissions auto-expire after 14 days of inactivity.
  • The Customer Agreement / Service Agreement, not marketing pages, is the binding contract. It covers eligibility, sanctions screening, fund-source declarations and BingX's right to amend terms unilaterally, and it disclaims responsibility for losses from third-party bots or API misuse connected to a user's account.
  • Region and product risk stacks on top of exchange risk: futures/derivatives on BingX are restricted or unavailable to users in several countries, an EA connected via API inherits whatever leverage and margin rules apply to the account, and liquidation on leveraged positions is the user's risk, not BingX's.

  • Many exchanges sit outside deposit-insurance or investor-compensation schemes: funds held on an exchange carry custody and counterparty risk if it halts withdrawals or fails.
  • An exchange API key is a security surface: a leaked trade-only key can still be used to move your open positions, so scope, IP-lock and rotate it carefully.

  • Under the EU's MiFID II, firms running algorithmic strategies must keep pre-trade risk controls, governance and testing in place. ESMA extended that scrutiny to AI-driven trading systems in 2026.
  • The FCA (UK) and ASIC (Australia) cap retail CFD leverage from 30:1 down to 2:1 and require negative-balance protection: a hard limit on the exposure any EA can take on a retail account.

  • The CFTC's advisory “AI Won't Turn Trading Bots into Money Machines” names automated-bot and AI-signal scams directly: one fake-AI forex-bot case ended in a $3.4 billion judgment.
  • Retail off-exchange forex dealers must register with the CFTC and be NFA Forex Dealer Members; soliciting retail forex orders, including for an automated system, requires NFA registration.
  • The SEC, NASAA and FINRA jointly warn that a phrase like “our proprietary AI system can't lose” signals an unregistered scheme, not legitimate automation.
  • FINRA Rule 3110 makes member firms supervise, test and register the people behind an algorithmic strategy: the institutional bar for 'supervised' automated trading.
